Sustainable Weekend Luggage

It’s that time of year again. All of those festivals, hen parties and weekend’s away mean we practically live out of our suitcases. If you are looking to invest in great sustainable weekend luggage, we’ve put together the best ones here.

In order to be durable, waterproof and let’s face it, good looking, most luggage is made from plastic. Whether that be polyester, nylon or PT. We think there’s a better way and luckily our favourite brands agree with us. Featuring everything from recycled consumer waste to biodegradable PET, everything is guaranteed to be durable and long lasting. Look out for companies that offer repairs. So you can keep your luggage going as long as you do.

Tumi

If you need a backpack for the gym or maybe you just like to travel light, Tumi have a great range of hands free luggage options. The Carsen features a water resistant water bottle pocket and quick access phone pocket. The whole range is made of 70% recycled post industrial and consumer waste materials. In the process, Tumi are saving this waste from landfill.

La Pochette

We love La Pochette’s range of useful and eco friendly travel solutions. This pouch is made from biodegradable, solvent free TPU, with vegan leather edging. It’s the perfect size for your carry on liquids meaning you won’t have to transfer everything to a plastic bag when going through security. It’s also water repellent and scratch resistant so you can pretty much take it anywhere.

Samsonite

Samsonite’s signature cabin case has been recreated in regenerated plastics for this new Eco range. The company used recycled plastic waste to create the hard outer case. Inside, the lining and pockets are made from Recyclex fabric. Which is created using recycled PET bottles. It’s handy for weekend trips away or in tandem with the matching larger case for a longer holiday.

We love the sporty element of the ‘Raeburn’ branded  tape that runs all over the bag. As with anything from Christopher Raeburn, you can expect high quality using the most unexpected materials.
