Resale websites are on the rise and we couldn’t be happier. They are a great opportunity to find amazing pieces at amazing prices. But the best part is that it’s all helping to increase the lifecycle of our clothes that would normally end up in landfill. Here are our favourite resale websites.

Now that the manic Christmas period is over, have you found yourself with excess stuff? Whether it be unwanted presents or old pieces cluttering up your wardrobe, you may be feeling overwhelmed post festivities. January is the perfect time to get rid of some excess clothing or accessories. For tips on clearing out and organising your wardrobe click here.

If you have unwanted designer pieces that you want to find a good home for, a resale website is probably your best bet. Every year the market for pre owned clothes grows. According to US consignment site ThredUP, by 2027 preloved or vintage pieces will make up a third of our wardrobes. It’s no wonder brands like Stella McCartney are getting behind the resale phenomenon. The British brand recently partnered with US consignment site The Real Real. They offer incentives to customers who use the website to increase the lifestyle of their Stella McCartney garments.

“Sustainability is the cornerstone of our brand, which is why we believe in the circular economy. We believe in what The RealReal is doing and are thrilled to be the first luxury brand to put together a program of sustainability initiatives with them.” — Stella McCartney for The Real Real

There are so many consignment websites to choose from. It’s totally worth researching the best one for you to make sure that you are optimising your resale chances. We take a look at the best resale websites for whatever you are looking to sell. Or buy!
