As more and more of us strive to use less plastic, beauty bars have grown in popularity. We take a look at the best cleansing bars that will help you go plastic free.
Here at The Vendeur, we are constantly seeking ways to use less plastic. And nowhere is it harder than in our bathroom. After putting together our guide to a plastic free bathroom, we came across beauty bars. A solid product has no need for plastic bottles so often they will come in cardboard packaging. As Brianne West, Founder of Ethique told us ‘With Ethique, I had a desire to create the world’s most sustainable cosmetics company. It sounds twee but I saw this as an obvious solution to a serious issue.’ Ethique’s bars come in compostable cardboard packaging, which makes the entire product biodegradable. Don’t let the word ‘soap’ unnerve you. These amazing bars of goodness won’t mess with the PH of your skin. So expect to get the same results as you would from an oil or liquid cleanser.

These little wonder bars come in Ethique’s signature compostable box. Simply lather the bar in some warm water and massage it into your skin. It even removes waterproof makeup, although we found it more helpful to use a cloth or flannel for this part. It leaves skin feeling clean and moisturised, without any tightness.
