Did you go Vegan this year? Are you struggling to find good vegan bakes that aren’t from Greggs? We hear you, the struggle is real. Here is our guide to the best vegan bakeries in London.

If you’ve gone vegan, you don’t have to give up delicious cakes, desserts, cupcakes, brownies and much more. Vegan baked goods taste just as incredible as normal ones and are cruelty-free. Perfect if you need an extra energy boost or a cosy pick me up without harming animals or the planet. Lucky for us, London just happens to be a vegan paradise, especially for those who have a sweet tooth. And there are loads of options outside of the Gregg’s vegan offering  (hurrah!).We have done the hard work of choosing all of these mouth-watering options. So all you have to do is eat them!

CROSSTOWN DOUGHNUTS

Would it be a full list without the legendary Crosstown Doughnuts? We don’t think so. These plant based, award winning doughnuts come in mouth watering options including; Salt Caramel Banana Cream, Peanut Butter and Blackcurrant compote, Matcha Tea and Raspberry four ways. The Limited edition Valentine’s Gift Box will make any sweet toothed partner’s day.

COOKIES AND SCREAM

Celebrating it’s 10 Year anniversary, Cookies and Scream is a fully vegan and gluten-free bakery based in North London. It’s perfect for those that miss a traditional cake but have a gluten allergy or intolerance. You can choose between cookies, brownies, pies and doughnuts, knowing that every product is dairy, egg, wheat and gluten-free. Their Scream Shakes are the perfect combo to make your cheat day a special treat.

VIDA BAKERY

This Brick Lane Vegan paradise is open 7 days a week, perfect for a last-minute sweet craving. Vida began life after its co-founder Dani who is coeliac and vegan had struggled to find sweet options to match her dietary needs. All of these (really cute) sweets are 100% gluten-free and plant based. In addition the bakery has all sorts of hot and soft drinks available.

HUMMINGBIRD BAKERY

If you have a special occasion to celebrate but struggle to find a vegan cake worthy of the event, The Hummingbird Bakery is the solution to your problem. Their classic American style baking went vegan and the selection is very commendable. Whether it’s a birthday, Valentine’s day, or any other celebration, they have you covered. These pretty extra cakes can be personalised and delivered to you.

WAVE

At Wave, aka We Are Vegan Everything, you will have some of the best options for a sweet snack. If their brunch options aren’t mind-blowing enough (ever had a vegan salmon bagel?!), their pastry selection is good even for those who have the highest standards. We highly recommend their croissants and pancakes. And, for those who have a hard time giving up butter, this is your spot. It’s the cafe of vegan cake company Cupcakes And Shhht, well known for creating the most sophisticated, decadent vegan wedding cakes.

WILD FOOD CAFè

This sustainable Cafè has some of the best organic and vegan dining options. You can experiment by having a vegan tasting menu for lunch or dinner, each arranged seasonally. And if you’re craving a burger, they have those too! They also have on offer some of the best raw desserts you could possibly find in London. How can you resist this vegan rainbow cheesecake?

PARADISE PLANT BASED

With branches in Bakerloo and Kensal Rise, Paradise Plant Based offers a selection of the most colourful and delicious raw cakes. Plus a menu of interesting alternative lattes. It’s totally instagrammable decor will have you making up all sorts of excuses to stay a little longer. Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the cafe and indulge in a sweet break without any sense of guilt.
