Ethical Earth Day Buys

As an ethical consumer, you have amazing opportunities to spend your money in a way that makes a positive impact. Put your money where your mouth is this Earth Day with these ethical buys that work hard to make a positive difference for our planet.
While some brands occasionally bring out a t-shirt that will enable them to make a charitable donation, these companies are constantly doing philanthropic work. And they don’t just raise money, they also raise awareness and offer a fun conversation starter for you to spread your environmentally positive message. We think they are wonderful places to spend your money and with your help, more companies can do better work to help the planet.
Bottletop x Global Goals
Today Bottletop launch their #TOGETHERBAND. The colourful collection of friendship bands is part of a 17 month campaign by the brand to bring attention to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Each band is handmade from up cycled ocean plastic and recycled firearm material by women in Nepal who have been rescued from human trafficking. 100% of profits will fund initiatives working towards the Global Goals. Choose a colour that represents each of the goals and use it to inspire you and start exciting conversations that will get us closer to achieving the goals in 2030.
One Ocean Beauty x Oceana
This game changing skincare brand is inspired by the Ocean but also gives back. Utilising the incredible protective and regenerative powers of oceanic ingredients like algae, kelp and seaweed, their formulas contain no nasties. Everything is responsibly sourced or recreated in a lab using Blue Biotechnology to ensure the Ocean isn’t depleted of these precious resources. Plus they have committed $250,000 to Oceana, a science based organisation dedicated to saving the Ocean.
Lark & Berry x One Tree Planted
“Diamond mining has taken an enormous toll on environments around the world, nowhere more than Africa,” says Lark & Berry founder, Laura Chavez. Not simply content with the fact that they use only lab grown diamonds, instead of mined, Lark & Berry also gives back. They have partnered with One Tree Planted to donate 5 trees for every purchase made. So far they have helped plant over 500 trees all over the world, including in Africa where the effects of diamond mining are the most devastating.
Peopletree x BBC Earth
Our favourite ethical British brand Peopletree has teamed up with BBC Earth to highlight the the importance of Ocean conservation. It features adorable prints of some of the Ocean’s most endangered species. Of course each piece is made from GOTS certified organic cotton. Choose from the Green Turtle, Whale or Shark. Use it to spark conversation about ways to help these animals and protect the Ocean.
Allbirds x National Audobon Society
To celebrate Earth Day, Allbirds have created a range of limited edition sneakers, each named after a different endangered bird species. Featuring new colour combinations in their soles and laces which pay homage to these precious animals, there are only 5 styles available. Once they’re gone they’re gone. Allbirds are donating all of the profits from the sale of these styles to the National Audobon Society. The Society works hard to protect birds and their habitats in America through education and conservation.
