We made it to February! Congratulations, maybe you’ve eaten your first non vegan meal already, or put away a glass or two of your favourite alcoholic tipple after committing yourself to Dry January? This month we’re celebrating being paid (woo hoo), Chinese New Year and the incredible diversity London has to offer.
Celebrating the acclaimed Couturier Christian Dior, this new exhibition at the V&A is not to be missed! Featuring historic pieces from ‘The New Look’ post war era collection to the unforgettable gown worn by Princess Margaret for her 21st Birthday portrait. Subsequent Creative Directors of Dior are also showcased, including Dior’s beloved gardens at his home in Normandy. The displays, set in the newly refurbished galleries, are truly breathtaking.
Looking for a fun and stylish way to celebrate Chinese New Year? Renowned British designer Simone Rocha has teamed up with XU cafe to bring you a traditional Taiwanese tea service. Housed at MATCHESFASHION.COM’s beautiful new space at 5 Carlos Place, you’ll be immersed in the Xu cafe experience, helped along by a beautiful installation of flowers and Chinese lanterns. While there, you can also shop Simone’s latest collection on the ground floor of the Mayfair Townhouse.
This is the exciting first Content Lock In of 2019 at their new, spacious Marylebone location in London. The first event features an intimate talk and shopping event with Jena Covello, Founder of natural beauty company Agent Nateur. Jena will be speaking about her own holistic health journey to ease the symptoms of the lifelong hormonal conditions she has suffered from. Her range began with the creation of an aluminium free deodorant and she hasn’t looked back.
Escape the cold, dreary English weather at Kew Gardens annual Orchid Festival. This year the exhibition celebrates the most biodiverse country in the world, Colombia. Did you know that Colombia has 4,270 species of Orchids alone?! The carnival of orchid’s promises to be a vibrant and colourful exploration of the incredible country and it’s flora and fauna. The Orchid festival is always very popular so Kew advises you to book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Since they arrived in London last year at The Conduit, The Maiyet Collective continues it’s mission to support positive impact brands. Next they will be popping up at Harvey Nichols in London for two weeks, bringing with them an incredible array of brands as well as a programme of events. We really recommend signing up early as the events are always amazing.
