Best Coats And Jackets For Spring

As Spring approaches, our thick winter coats don’t really seem appropriate anymore. Whilst the weather is still a bit unpredictable (thanks Storm Gareth!) we are looking to weather appropriate but stylish coats and jackets for Spring.

Whatever you look for in Spring outerwear, we have you covered. From ethically crafted classic Moto Jackets, to rain coats and elegant swing coats. As ever we recommend choosing a colour and style that you will wear again and again. You won’t find any trendy options here. However, there’s nothing more fulfilling than purchasing a well made product that will last you through the seasons.

The Leather Jacket

It doesn’t get much more classic than a black leather Moto jacket. The Sway use only reclaimed and excess leathers in their products. The linings of the jackets are created using recycled and reclaimed fabrics too. The offset chunky zip helps it feel retro, the perfect addition to your year round wardrobe.

The Belted Coat

For an elegant evening option, we love this belted coat from Fonnesbech. It’s made from recycled materials but definitely doesn’t feel recycled. We love the stylish navy blue, a great alternative to black. And contrary to many style rules, navy goes with pretty much anything. Pair it with a trouser suit to add an elegant touch to a workwear outfit.

The Everyday Coat

Toast is known for its impeccably simple but well made womenswear. And this cotton canvas coat is no exception. We love the nostalgic elegance of the peter pan collar and chunky buttons. The beautiful rust colour is an unexpected neutral that will work well over denim or paired with a your favourite dress. The thickness of the material makes it a perfectly smart choice to wear to work.

The Raincoat

In Spring you simply cannot be without a good rain coat. It’s important that its lightweight but windproof for those days when it’s not very cold but you still want to keep dry. We love Tretorn’s amazing range of rain coats which, like it’s footwear, are always responsibly made. The Tora is made from recycled polyester and coated with PVC free PU to keep it waterproof.

The Eclectic Trench Coat

This pretty expression of a classic trench coat is delightfully different. The frills  make it a perfect option to add a touch of femininity to your look. Stella McCartney cleverly twists her typically androgynous style with slightly flared sleeves and an elegant ruffle down the front. It’s a great option for work or play, pulling together any outfit.

The Denim Jacket

A twist on the classic indigo denim jacket, this style from Kowtow is distinctive. The nipped in waist, contrasting stitching and panelling make it an eye catching option for Spring. Kowtow create all their denim using 100% organic cotton, dyed using GOTS approved processes to ensure that the water used isn’t wasted or polluted. Pair it with an aline skirt and sneakers for a cool weekend look.

The Alternative Waterproof

Christopher Raeburn can always be relied upon to fuse his signature streetwear style into wearable pieces. The Ripstock Mac is crafted from deadstock military grade ripstock nylon. The contrasting tape belt is a stylish nod to utilitarian wear. This style is perfect for throwing over your outfit when the weather isn’t desirable, but ensures your look is still totally modern.

The Simple Button Down

This practical but uber cool tencel frock coat is a great lightweight option for warmer days. We love the neat shirt style collar, as well as the practical, deep pockets at the front. Because it’s so light, we want to wear it as an over shirt or dress. When it gets warmer, it makes for a great evening cover up.
